Cookie Policy
Introduction
Cookies are small text files placed by websites on a user’s computer or mobile device, which are used again by those same websites in following visits. Thanks to cookies, websites can remember a user’s actions and preferences (such as, for example, login data, selected language, font size, other display settings, etc.), so that they do not have to be reset when users return to the same website or browse its pages. As such, cookies are used to perform computer authentication, to monitor sessions and to store information related to users’ activities on a website. Cookies can also include a unique identification code allowing to keep track of users' browsing activities within the website for statistical or advertising purposes. When browsing a website, cookies may also be placed on a user’s computer or mobile device by websites or web servers different from the one being visited (these are termed “third-party cookies”). Some operations cannot be performed without cookies, which in some cases are technically necessary for the correct functioning of the website.
There are various types of cookies, with different characteristics and functions, and these might remain on a user's computer or mobile device for different lengths of time: “session cookies” are automatically deleted when the browser is closed; “persistent cookies” stay on the user's device and have a pre-set expiration date.
As per current legislation, the use of cookies does not always require the express consent of users. More in detail, express content is not required for “technical cookies”, i.e. cookies used for the sole purpose of transmitting communications via an electronic communications network, or in situations where they are required to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. In other words, these are cookies that are essential for the correct functioning of the website or necessary to perform the activities requested by the user.
“Analytics cookies” are like the aforementioned technical cookies, and they also do not require express consent if used directly by the website operator (these are termed “first-party cookies” or “proprietary cookies”) to collect information in aggregate form on how many users visit the website and how they visit the website, or when they are provided by third parties and tools are used to reduce identification (for example, by hiding a significant portion of the IP address). There are also “functionality cookies”, which allow users to browse according to selected criteria (for example, by language or by product) in order to improve the service provided.
Conversely, “profiling cookies” – i.e. cookies aimed at creating user profiles and used to send advertising messages tailored by the preferences expressed when browsing the internet – require prior consent from users.
Types of cookies used by this website mywellness.com
This website mywellness.com uses the types of cookies listed in the table below.
These cookies are categorised as:
- “Strictly necessary” cookies (or technical cookies). These cookies are necessary for the website to function correctly and cannot be deactivated in our systems. They are usually only configured to respond to actions performed by users, such as a request for services, like setting privacy preferences, logging in or filling out forms. Users can configure their browser to block or be warned about these cookies, but this also means that parts of the website might not work as expected. These cookies do not store personal information and their use is essential and crucial for the correct functioning of the website.
- Performance cookies. These cookies allow to count the number of visits and traffic sources on the website, in order to measure and improve performance. They help us learn which pages are the most and least popular and how visitors navigate around the website. All the information collected by performance cookies is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If users do not consent to the use of these cookies, it is not possible to know when they have visited our website.
With reference to Google Analytics cookies (termed “GA”), we would also like to add that appropriate tools have been adopted to hide significant portions of the IP address, in order to reduce identification by these cookies. Moreover, these cookies have been configured in such a way that the supplier (Google) will only use them to provide services, will store them separately and will not “enrich” or “transform” them using other information at its disposal, unless specific consent has been given.
How to view and configure cookies in your browser
Users can select which cookies to authorise by following the procedure set up by the website itself, accessed by the links provided when opening a page, as well as authorise, block or delete (in whole or in part) cookies applying their browser’s relevant settings: however, it should be noted that disabling all or some cookies might mean that the website cannot be browsed or that some of its services or functions are no longer available or working correctly and/or that users might have to manually amend or enter information or preferences every time they visit the website.
First-party cookie management instructions
Based on the view expressed by the Italian Data Protection Authority ‘Il Garante’ in its document “Guidelines for cookies and other tracking tools – 10 June 2021”, considering the function they perform, the use of technical cookies does not require the consent of the interested party.
However, with respect to first-party cookies, i.e. those sent directly by the operator of this website, users can always apply their choices by configuring the specific settings of their browser (in this regard, see above).
The choices made by users in relation to the website's cookies will in turn be stored in a specific technical cookie. However, in some circumstances such cookie may not work correctly: in such cases, users are advised to delete unwanted cookies and disable their use by configuring their browser.
User preferences regarding cookies will have to be reset if different devices or browsers are used to access the website.
General provisions.
Data collected via cookies will be stored according to type: Session cookies expire when users close their browser, while persistent cookies have standard expiration dates that, except for particular exceptions, do not exceed 20 days.
Such data will be processed exclusively for the aforementioned purposes and may be disclosed to subsidiaries, parent companies, affiliates or entities otherwise associated to Technogym S.p.A.
In compliance with minimum security measures, the data deriving from the use of cookies may also be communicated to public security agencies and other public and private entities for the fulfilment of obligations dictated by the law, including fiscal, administrative, financial and similar obligations. Under no circumstances will the data be disseminated.
In compliance with the principles of proportionality and necessity, data will not be kept for periods longer than those absolutely needed for the achievement of the aforementioned purposes and, therefore, to provide the services offered or in compliance with specific laws.
Users can exercise their access rights against the Data Controller at any time, pursuant to Article 15 of EU Regulation 2016/679. Furthermore, users have the right to have their data updated, rectified, completed and erased or request restriction of its processing. Finally, users have the right to object, in whole or in part, for legitimate reasons, to the processing of their personal data, even if pertinent to the purpose of its collection, as well as to the sending of advertising or direct sales material or for carrying out market research or marketing communications, by contacting the Data Controller, from which the complete and updated list of Data Processors is also available on request.
Users also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority.
